Even though I live in sunny South Florida, the weather has definitely been a bit drier this winter and with the drop in temperatures recently I've found myself reaching for these skincare bits more frequently:
Living Well One Line A Day
At the end of last year, I went through a bit of a rough patch, and although I'm still working my way out of it I decided to do something for me that would help me reflect on my journey back to feeling 'okay'. Insert the Living Well One Line a Day: A Five Year Reflection Book. I think the color itself speaks mountains - it's just such a bright and happy yellow! I keep this little number on my nightstand and every night I reflect on the day and write about something that happened, something to think about, how I felt, etc. What's really great about this little book is that it provides you with prompts if you're having trouble figuring out where to start.
My Best Friend's Wedding
Exactly a week ago today I was celebrating what was sure to be one of the happiest days of 2016 - my best friend's wedding! It was a beautiful backyard wedding followed by a barbecue under the stars. It absolutely poured the entire week leading up to it, but the wedding day and night stayed completely dry until the cutting of the cake - which turned out to be a great sendoff for the couple! It was such a beautiful ceremony and I am so appreciative to have been able to stand next to my best friend, as her maid of honor, while she exchanged vows with the love of her life.
Thrift Trip: Mixed Metals
Went on a little thrift trip today and here's what I came home with:
I hadn't realized it before checking out, but the clerk at the register saw my cart and said, "Oh, so you have a thing for metals." Yes, I suppose I do! So here's what I came home with: a brass duck bookend, small giraffe ring holder, brass container, and a copper tea pot. Funny enough, I've thrifted these duck bookends before, at a small thrift store in Georgia, so of course this one had to come home with me. I've also been finding a lot of these brass containers recently and I have a bit of a collection going! Also - so very excited about this copper tea pot. I'm thinking of using it as a vessel for flowers?
Any tips on polishing various metals would be much appreciated! That giraffe needs a little bit of attention...

thrift trip: all about {homeware}
After about five months of foregoing any thrift store shopping excursions, I set out today on a little shopping trip of my own to the three closest Goodwills and guys! Here's what I found:
Sale Spotlight: CVS Winter Beauty Clearance 2013
It's that time of year again! The tree is up, the stockings are hung, and CVS is cleaning out their inventory to make way for all the new goodies coming in the new year! While most locations don't have their clearance items labeled yet (it's still quite early in the game), I just wanted to point you guys in the direction of the lovely G of Nouveau Cheap who - yet again - has posted a master list for all the drugstore beauty clearance!
